James Jordan is a 40 year veteran of the wine industry in Dallas. He started out in 1983 knowing nothing about wine and worked his way into the role of wine buyer for one of the top wine sellers in the metroplex by 1988. The store was recognized by Wine & Spirits Magazine in a 1998 feature article as the best wine store in Dallas.
After many years of working in large stores with thousands of wines at his fingertips he has taken a more low key and relaxed approach to selling wine. It’s important to give people the opportunity to taste the wine before they buy it, so tastings are an integral part of Dallas Wine Company’s model. James enjoys working with people of all levels of interest and knowledge trying to connect them to the wine that they will enjoy drinking most.
Dallas Wine Company hosts wine tastings at The Wine Therapist in the Lakewood region of Dallas, working closely with owner Phillip Nikpour. James also works with restaurants to host wine dinners at their venues for a more complete food and wine experience and arranges private tastings for small groups in private homes.
